Story telling is very fun when you can make the listener listen. When it comes to children it is fairly easy to make them listen because of there imagination. Some people have this natural talent to tell stories while some parents have a harder time to find the right feeling to make it a memorable moment.

I will give you some advice, first of all make sure you pick something funny this is not something they have to learn or remember, telling a story is entertainment. Telling a story before bedtime is the best thing you can do for your child. Put them to sleep with a smile on there face is beneficial for both of you. In today's society it is harder to do this regularly because of the burdens most parents have with long working hours or working more than one job but if you start telling stories you will have it a lot easier at home so please give it a try.

Telling a story can be so much fun for you and your child so if you haven not been telling any stories lately you should pick it up and make it a rutin. It is better if children can go to sleep without having to think about problems that might have happened during the day. Many parents these days have problems with kids that do not want to go to bed, if you start telling good stories at bedtime they will brush there teeth and go to bed without any complaints.

Try to pick stories that you like it is a lot easier to add feeling to a story you like. Read and learn the story before you tell it when you know it you can change it and make it longer or shorter depending on the situation. Many parents make the mistake of trying to read fast so they can get it over with, when you do that you can just as well skip the whole thing. The energy you must send out is that you want to do this as much as your child wants it.

In some stories you can fill in and ask questions about the story even if it is a fiction story, remember that childrens imagination can make the story telling take a new turn. You might end up in a discussion about something and if you do let the child tell you how it is. Do not make the mistake by telling them how it is, that's not true or that is not possible. In a childs world everything is possible and it should be in yours as well.
